Medicare Part C - Medicare Advantage (MA) is the new name for Medicare + Choice. All MA plans must cover all Part A and Part B benefits. MA plans cost sharing must be actuarially equivalent to Medicare Parts A and B, but may be different for specific services. Many MA plans also have Part D prescription drug coverage.
In order to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, you must be eligible for Part A and be enrolled in Part B

If you decide to join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you will not need a Medicare Supplement policy because the provider of that plan will generally offer many of the same benefits. You will, however, still have to pay the monthly Medicare Part B premium of $99.90 (in 2012) to Medicare.
